The Newark Youth Leadership Project (NYLP) is a program which has seen hundreds of youth participants graduate and thrive. Through mentorship and exposure to outdoor and horticultural activities, this year-round training program guides high school students in their development of interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. I took part empowering interns’ lives by preparing them for college, improving their technical skills, and by exposing them to the natural environment.

This experience propelled me to design T-shirts for future high school & college mentors as well as posters with the intention to take Newark’s youth seriously.
