Convocational T-Shirt Design Concept

After joining this institution I became strongly connected to it similar to the infamous cherry blossom trees that grow in Branch Brook Park here in Newark. The rationale behind this T-shirt design for Rutgers University’s official welcome for first-year & transfer students was centered on all of us being rooted here.

Final Design

The root system needed elements that imitated our body like veins and red blood cells in order to symbolize our human connection within it.

Red is meaningful in relation to the University and its mascot, the Scarlet Knight. The quote choice felt unifying and meaningful to our theme.
